September 2022 newsletter
What a busy past few months we have had in the community. Our programs are back in full swing within all areas, and it is great to see so many young and old community coming through the doors and re-connecting after the challenges of lockdowns. As soon as the lockdowns had lifted, we had various community events around the community and our biggest event was celebrating NAIDOC week.
At board level we are progressing our model rules which we are hoping to engage members to discuss what may need to be looked at in strengthening the organisation in moving forward.
Lastly, I would like to thank all staff for their continued leadership during such a tough time in providing the services you do for the community.

A visit from Santa was the perfect way to help our kids at the Early Learning Centre celebrate the end of 2024.

We are continuing to celebrate 50 years of MVAC, and our latest event was our Family Fun Day!
We are celebrating 50 years of MVAC, and it was wonderful to kick off the party with an opening ceremony featuring food, Culture and memories.
We were Black, loud and proud! It was a fantastic night of fun and fashion as our community gathered for our annual NAIDOC Ball.

Our Women’s Group is giving our mob a chance to come together, share yarns and build knowledge of our culture. Read more in this month's newsletter.
Our community of Elders took advantage of the beautiful autumn weather to take a short trip south to see some Cultural highlights.
Our Youth team was able to take 12 young people to the Gold Coast this past school holidays, with the support of Dhelk Dja.
It was great to see our kids feature in the news recently, highlighting the efforts of six squads from Robinvale in a recent basketball tournament at Shepparton.
